Client: The Mill Coffee & Tea

 

Goal: As an intern at The Mill, I had the creative freedom to develop new merchandise that embodied the coffee shop's rustic, slightly Western theme with a touch of aviation. My task was to design merchandise highlighting different aspects of the company, including a special piece for the holiday season.

 

Approach:

  1. T-Shirt Design: I highlighted the Western aesthetic by featuring a cowboy on horseback, capturing the shop's rustic charm, with the slogan “Giddy Up in a Cup”
  2. Hat Design: For the hats, I incorporated an aviation theme by depicting a plane, reflecting the model planes found in some of their locations. For added detail, I included a coffee bean in the center of the propeller.
  3. Tote Bag Design: For the holiday merchandise, I drew from Scandinavian design, inspired by the style of their holiday coffee bags. By examining elements from Scandinavian sweaters, I crafted a unique sweater-patterned design for the tote bag.

Result: The merchandise contributed to enhancing The Mill's brand identity, appealing notably to both regular customers and new visitors, thus boosting overall brand recognition.
